Frequently Asked Questions

  • I'm having my baby at the hospital. Is it possible to capture the birth? Here in Portugal is still not very common to have the presence of a photographer/videographer inside the birthing room. This is usually a decision made by the team who will attend you birth. For this reason, it's very important for you to check with your hospital or birthing center of choice, to see if they allow that option. In case this request is denied, it doesn't mean that I can't still follow part of the laboring process. I'll always be able to capture those first hours of labour while you're still at home, before going to the hospital.

  • I would like to have a film of the birth of my baby and a doula during labour. Do you provide both services? As a doula, my most sacred mission during your labour is to be 100% at your side, focused on your needs. If I'm holding a camera in front of my face, I wont be able to do that. I wouldn't be able to perform both actions at the same time without compromising they'r quality. However, I'll be able to be your doula during pregnancy and postpartum. And at the moment of birth be your videographer. This option provides a beautiful benefit. This way, during your pregnancy, we'll create a closer relationship. But don't forget, when the big Day arrives i'll be 100% dedicated to your film.

  • I'm uncomfortable with the idea of being filmed  during my labour. Can I still have a video about the birth of my child? Of course! I always tell my clients that the most important thing is for them to do only what makes them comfortable. Each person is unique, and that's why I provide different types of options to suit every family's wishes. In some cases, it's just a pregnancy shooting session, or maybe a visit to the hospital/home immediately after the baby is born. Some people would like to document the first stages of labour while still at home, and others may wish to capture the moment of birth itself.

  • I usually don't like cameras pointed at me. Does it make sense to hire your services? I always meet my clients prior to the big day, this allows us to know each other a little bit better. Also I choose to adopt a less evasive, documental approach whenever I'm filming. Trying to preserve you comfort level and spontaneity as much as possible. However, if you're not sure if this is for you, or don't know if you would like to have me at you birth ou postpartum phases, I suggest a video shooting session during your pregnancy. This allows us to not only capture that beautiful moment, but also for you to know me better before the big Day. To establish a deeper connection and to make a more informed decision about my presence at you labour/postpartum.

  • I don't live in Lisbon. Is it still possible to have a film? Absolutely. I'm available to document your story in every part of Portugal. Living in another part of the globe?  Don't be discouraged, let me know where you're from and we'll discuss the options.
